Toronto Vs. Montreal

6-0, the final score of the Toronto Vs. Montreal game on Saturday Night (Hockey Night In Canada). One thing is for sure the next time these two teams meet eachother Montreal will surely be intimidated but i know they won't back down (even though they probab;y should) DING DING DING, let the fireworks fly.

The game was actually entertaining because although Toronto beat them up on the score board Montreal had a pushback in the second period where Reimer had to hold them in to complete the Shutout. Third period was a gong show with 94 minutes in penalties handed out between the two teams... Thats a game and a half! None the less very fun to watch.

P.S. check out this picture Tylor.

Changing Times (GO LEAFS GO!)

This blog is quickly evolving into a Toronto Maple Leafs fan blog because I am going to talk a little bit about that wicked game we had the pleasure of watching yesterday evening.

First off i want to give a bit of kudos to Mr. James Reimer, he had a solid showing last night with the Sabres goals being fairly good shots (at least when Carl Gunnarsson wasn't standing around doing nothing). Yup Gunnarsson continues to disappoint yet he remains on the top pairing with Dion, keep Kostka with Phaneuf, he's a good young player with grit and determination.

Kadri continues to look dangerous every time he touches the puck which explains why he has a point in every game thus far. Kadri playing the way he is can only mean good things for the Leafs while Kessel tries to pot one (with 28 shots on goal), Kessel, you need to get in a dirty area and score a bad goal to get the ball rolling.

Franson, You have an incredible wrist shot USE IT! in Nashville you scored those feeds back to the point all day and we're starting to see it here in Toronto... Nice. Unreal game Cody keep that shit up.

After The Leafs dropped the lead in the 2nd period Matt Frattin scored a rebound from a Cody Franson shot to tie the game up at 2-2, clutch normally it's hard for Toronto to get back in it after going down in a game. Overtime was ultimately needed in the game and to get straight to the point or should i say 2 points Matt Frattin burned the Buffalo D man and scored a short side goal on the veteran goaltender Ryan Miller with one second left on the clock!!

GO LEAFS GO!!!!

P.S. Congrats to the Habs for signing PK Subban... hahaha

Crosby sucks (Penguins Suck)

NOTE: This entire post is in Arial font.

Your TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS are playing S. Crosby and the Pitsburgh Penguins tonight. Although I rely heavily on E. Malkin to get me points in fantasy, all of that goes out the window when they play the LEAFS. In other news i dropped N. Horton and picked up S. Doan (Captain of the Pheonix Coyote's) he hits, scores and is an outstanding playmaker, how did he not go in the draft?!? Anyways grab a beer and enjoy the game whether you like the LEAFS or not!

WEEK 1

Finding myself ahead by a sizable margin on the scoreboard in this first week match-up, I'm confident I'll be able to pull this win out.

Our league scoring system is based on 11 categories:
  • Goals (G)
  • Assists (A)
  • Plus/minus (+/-)
  • Power play points (PPP)
  • Short handed points (SHP)
  • Shots on goal (SOG)
  • Hits
  • Wins
  • Goals against average (GAA)
  • Save% (SV%)
  • Shutouts (SHO)
If you are winning in any of the categories throughout the week you get a plus one on your score. Currently I am winning 7-3 ahead of my adversary in A, PPP, SOG, Hits, Wins, GAA, and  SV%.

P.S.

I am a die hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan and the reason my save % is so high i owe directly to R.Miller a goalie who shut the door on my favorite team... Talk about bitter sweet.

The Draft

The draft took place at my buddy Dave's place downtown Toronto. Drafting took place "Offline" and included 12 aspiring GM's, the individuals who could not make it joined us on a Google Doc. and picked in sequence. I received second pick which I chose E. Malkin a "Penguin" I'm convinced will kill it this year... Yes more so than S. Crosby. "Nogoalovs" My team, consists of talented players who I am positive will walk over the other GM's in my league.

This blog will track my weekly match-ups and will help document my domination of this league.
